My life has been a testimony of God’s saving grace. He reaches out to us before we have any thought of Him. He calls to us and He enables us to answer. If we respond to Him, He places His love in our hearts. He is there to teach us, lead us, pick us up when we fall, forgive us, empower us, and to make us over in His image. We have always been meant to live as “sons of God.” We are so far from that image, and yet, Christ has made a way for us to live as though we had overcome, while we are still over coming.
In the telling of my story, I have not left out my failures, because they demonstrate the depth of God’s love. However, I can not tell everything that I have done wrong, or everything that God has done for me. For everyday has been filled with His wonder. Nor do I feel comfortable writing all the details of what other people have done to harm me. I have deliberately skimmed over some things. I have forgiven all, as I have been forgiven.
The purpose of sharing my story is to encourage others. God is real. He loves you as much as He loves me. He desires a relationship with you. Your relationship may look different than mine, but that is what is so wonderful about God. He has a unique relationship with each of us, because He made us to be unique. He doesn’t want us to become a “cookie cutter Christian.” He wants us to be all that He meant us to be when He created us. He in the business of finishing what He started.
